Key Personnel
Robert Appel
Robert Appel is Executive Vice President of Servicing at Nationstar Mortgage. His responsibilities include management of all loan servicing activities related to Nationstar’s portfolio. Mr. Appel has over 21 years of experience in the mortgage industry and five years in public accounting. He has held prior leadership positions at Ernst and Young, Tyler Cabot Mortgage Securities Fund, Capstead Mortgage and GMAC. Mr. Appel graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Texas, with a B.S. in Business Control Systems. He earned the credential of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and is a former member of the Freddie Mac Default Advisory Group.
Shawn W. Stone
Shawn Stone is currently Executive Vice President of Special Servicing. He joined Nationstar in April of 1997, and his current responsibilities include leading Nationstar’s third party subservicing and Loss Recovery businesses. He has held various positions with Nationstar, including Regional Vice President in the Retail Branch Division, Vice President of Capital Markets and Senior Vice President of Correspondent Lending. Mr. Stone has a B.S. B. A. in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island and an MBA in Finance from the University of Texas at Dallas.
John Sayre
John Sayre manages the Business Development Team for Nationstar Mortgage and has 24 years of mortgage banking experience. Previously, John was with Fannie Mae where he served in a number of customer management roles over 15 years, with the most recent being Vice President of Marketing for National Accounts, Western Region. He has also held leadership positions with Home Savings of America and First Interstate Mortgage. Mr. Sayre earned a degree in economics from Claremont McKenna College in California.
