Charles Sanders
As CEO and Founder of Urban Lending Solutions, Charles Sanders is nationally recognized as an expert professional services and real estate information solution provider . He, and his wife Elisa, founded Urban Lending in 1998, as Urban Settlement Services and quickly grew Urban into one of the nation’s largest minority business enterprises serving the mortgage and financial services industry.
Prior to founding Urban Lending, Mr. Sanders was a leading vendor management executive who built several of the largest title,appraisal and settlement captives in the nation. He transitioned into the vendor management industry following a successful NFL career,where he played for two seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He had also played with the San Diego Chargers, who drafted Mr. Sanders from Slippery Rock University where he received a B.S. in Business Mgmt.
Mr. Sanders is active with the National Minority Supplier Development Council, the Mortgage Bankers Association, and leads the Charles Sanders Charities,a nonprofit organization created to provide support for minorities such as sponsoring youth sports organizations and entrepreneurial ventures.
James Smith
James L. Smith is the President of Urban Lending Solutions and head of the senior management team. His name is known throughout the secondary mortgage markets complementing his market presence in the due diligence aspects of structured mortgage finance.
Prior to Urban Lending Solutions, Jim held the position of Executive Vice President of Fiserv Lending Solutions and Executive Vice President Chief Operating Officer for Nationwide Portfolio Services. His responsibilities included product development and sales of all portfolio bundled due diligence products to the Wall Street Market. He was also instrumental in the development of analytical risk scoring products to service the client market.
Jim also held the position of 1st Vice President Capital Markets with Fidelity Hansen Quality where he facilitated the relationships with all New York capital market firms. Additional duties included the management and oversight of all Credit due diligence operations of FNF Hansen Quality. Jim has also held Senior Secondary Market positions with Old Kent Mortgage and Southern Pacific Funding Corporation.
